Summary

Approximately 72,000 children and young people living in NSW have a disability. Most of these children live in the community with their families. Many of these families rely on government and funded agencies to support them to meet the needs of their child and to ensure their wellbeing and access to opportunities.

Between late May and August 2010, we consulted with over 300 parents and carers of children with disability across NSW about their current experiences in accessing and using services designed to support their child, and their family as a whole.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and pay our respects to all Elders past and present, and to the children of today who are the Elders of the future.
